Question: The Domatarious Chronicles say that James Shipman Twerell is the author. What is that all about?
Answer: While I am not a split personality, I am actually both people. I was born James Terry Shipman but adopted legally by my stepfather who changed Shipman to Twerell. Shipman ties into the second book (The Light and the Shadow) as the writers name, so I changed back to a mixture of Shipman /Twerell.
Question: Some of your books have a spiritual dimension. Is this part of your writing or part of your life?
Answer: It is part of my life. I have lived a varied spiritual journey encompassing being a person void of spiritual understanding to being a minister. I was clergy for many years. I had a lot of trouble with organized religion, so expanded my search into psychology and spiritual understanding. I come from a place of Christian understanding, but I have no problem being open with other faiths. To me God is much bigger than our small rules and regulations. I am where I am in my journey, and as the apostle Paul said, “Wherever I find myself, there I am content.”
Question: Who is your greatest inspiration?
Answer: Many people, but in writing I love Hemingway. In spiritual understanding I love Robert Johnson. In psychology I love Jung. In life I love my wife Janetta.

Question: Catch and Release and your new book PSYCH are dramatic moves from your original writings. Is this intentional?
Answer: Neither intentional or an accident. It is just me.
